Share Me
This is subject to change, since I toy with themes and do a bunch of other things that don’t pay. =)
For now, I’m satisfied with tweaking this simple theme that isn’t so simple to tweak…it has built in functionality but it’s not easy to spot. Recently (December 2010) I have added a fat “Tweet” button. I would add a fat “Like” button but the theme has it already, and the plugins so far haven’t really impressed me much.
I did remove OnlyWire from the blog – only because the theme didn’t play nice with it.
In the spirit of blogging, getting the word out, and giving you a way to support me without the use of money (for those ideas please see my Support This Blog post) – here’s where the hard-to-find share buttons are at.
Mind you this is current for…like…five minutes, then I’ll have a hare-brained idea and change it all up just to be the “organized” (frenetic) blogger guy I am.
First, this picture shows you what’s at the end of the posts. I took a picture and labeled it with the current options, and hopefully this helps:
RSS Subscriptions and Comment Feed
You’ll see in the sidebar where to sign up for the comment feed with Feedburner, or the main blog feed. You can also subscribe via email, and after the comments you will be invited to do so as well.
You will need to scroll down when you leave a comment for that. It’s because I’m not using Thesis or Socrates some other cool theme that makes it easy to see, but that may change in 2011. Hopefully. Probably. Most likely.
Like Me. Add Me. Tweet Me.
This is in the picture above, but I’m on Facebook under “James TheJust” and Twitter at “TheAvgGenius.” I want to add contacts to both, especially since Matt Cutts has said Google’s now looking to social activity more heavily than they used to (see the Webmaster videos, Cutts is taking and answering questions).
Anyhow – that means I want this blog to be connected to my Facebook account like you see on Leo Dimilo’s blog (believe me, I’m nowhere near that guy’s talent), but haven’t quite crossed that gap. Until then, use the Facebook and Twitter, etc. links before the comment section, after the posts.
Otherwise, we can chat it up that way when I’m not too busy. Always in need of a fine distraction.
Thanks for the visit, and y’all come back now, y’hea?
