Article Marketing Robot Review
Is Article Marketing Robot The “Best” Article Marketing Spinner and Submitter Of 2010?
Edit May 29, 2012: I am no longer recommending using this tool thanks to Google Penguin. My SEO efforts to date have been brought to nothing, and until I can accurately pinpoint what the culprit is (whether on-page or off-page SEO or both), I suspect my link-building and every other effort at SEO to blame.
The verdict is still out, but please listen to an interview I did with Tim Carter from AskTheBuilder fame for more details. Continuing with the rest of the original article now…just proceed with caution and at your own risk.
Revision 9-17-10
*Yawn!* Whoo hoo. ANOTHER Magic Article Submitter wanna be…Or is it?
Article Marketing Robot is both an article spinner as well as an article submitter, but the developer actually studied the strengths and weaknesses of his competitors and tried to improve on the competition. Did he get the job done…?
The spinner is ambitious, definitely. In theory it looks to be the better of the spinners on the market – better than The Best Spinner because of the thesaurus resource: it has a “look up” feature where the software looks words up online fairly quickly (not instantly, but rapidly, depending on your internet connection).
Why? The spinner inside the Article Marketing Robot has two thesauri: one that is dynamic like The Best Spinner BUT in theory AMR is better than TBS – because it doesn’t rely on the pooled misspellings of countless other users who do not spell very well, and when you mix that fact with the jumbled mass of intermingled meanings in The Best Spinner’s thesaurus…well.
You do have a lot of choices in TBS, but 30-45% of those synonyms are just noisy pixels: they will either not apply, or simply be so terribly misspelled that you have a virtual landfill of useless synonyms.
To be fair, this isn’t a critique of The Best Spinner – and Jonathan Leger’s team is working on cleaning that up in a recently revised thesaurus (I was on the Beta test, it was cleaner for sure). My point is, that Article Marketing Robot sought to fix this issue of meaning and context.
The two thesauri in the AMR software do provide neatly organized synonyms, for that, this spinner is in a league its own.
One thesaurus looks online using various references, rather than consulting other people who were spinning articles at 3 a.m. because they’re IMers like you and the coffee ran out…
In other words –
The spinner in Article Marketing Robot looks words up online and then gives you a choice to decide which synonym group to use.
Mind you, this is the “slower” thesaurus of the two included, but is that worth it? At first blush, I was glowing with the possibilities of this thesaurus feature. Unlike most of my competitors and freelancers, I have this crazy notion that every article counts. Meaning matters in my articles…
And I thought: This spinner gives you synonym groups that make sense… It seemed like a revolution in thinking – and it really is a great idea…
You get backlinks that actually can get traffic because the articles aren’t written by Mork from Ork.
There is another thesaurus option that is stored on your hard drive, much like Magic Article Submitter (and I am so glad I have both, by the way!). This will store synonyms the more traditional way…
And it’s faster.
But in practice, not in theory or clever sales copy, how does the spinner hold up in Article Marketing Robot?
Compared to either The Best Spinner or Magic Article Rewriter, Article Marketing Robot is currently in 3rd place as a spinner.
So if this was only a spinner, it wouldn’t be a contender…but as an Article Submitter – AMR is the bee’s knees!
Article Marketing Robot is easily the best article submitter. 5 stars out of 5.
This software is loaded with a mix between the directories you know and love, the high PR directories in Magic Submitter, including GoArticles and EzineArticles and the like – and then a number of solid PR directories I never heard of.
It also includes the usual suspects you might find in MAR – though I am not sure if they are the same targets. This sotware supports:
- Miscellaneous Directories that Have No “Template” (GoArticles, ArticlesBase, etc.)
- Article Dashboard
- Article Friendly
- WordPress
- Article Beach
- Article MS
- Your Own WordPress Blogs
The developer also has included a “suggest directories” feature, and you are able to add any directory, so long as there is a template for it – see above for the templates.
There are a number of features about the submitter that I like, not the least of which are the targets – you get plenty of PR 3 and greater targets. (By targets I mean directories.)
And you get to select the directories by PageRank, by status (if you wanted to arrange them according to submission status, for example), even by template (Article Dashboard, etc.).
That is hot stuff, so for example if you wanted only 10 PR 4+ articles to go out – it’s a breeze. Select your targets and jam.
The Scheduler is a necessity, especially for new sites. Link velocity and acceleration, whatever you have read, is something that will wind you up in the sandbox if you ignore them. All link building efforts need to be organic looking. So on a newer site, if you shoot out 1000-2000 links in a week, and then…nothing…
See ya. Good bye, website, possibly de-indexing – it’s not a good plan. Rather, use the scheduler, think about what you’re doing, and use the software judiciously. In other words, the scheduler is a good way to drip feed submissions intelligently for a new site…or really for any!
I’ve seen my own sites, 3-4 months old, get the G-slap into Tinkerbell territory (that’s “Neverland” for you who dislike Peter Pan and fine lore). What caused it was a boatload of links and then: nothing!
Another feature that’s hot about Article Marketing Robot:
AMR will capture the RSS feeds you create from your submissions.
I know that SENuke and Magic Submitter do that (those are excellent programs to get, BTW). Capturing the RSS feeds – GREAT to get your stuff indexed! A link that is not indexed is nothing more than wasted effort as far as ranking your website goes – of course a human could find it and follow the link to your site, but in a link-building campaign why not get both if you can?
There’s the ability to ENLARGE the font – something that I wished was included on Magic Article Submitter’s small windows (though I still love the Magic software).
That is a good feature, but not the end-all I thought it was at first – because, unlike either MAR or TBS, AMR does not currently allow you to enlarge the text editor window to full screen.
As it stands right now – subject to change! – the sidebar of tools and thesaurus selection is always there. This has a claustrophobic feeling if you’re used to…well…actually if you’re used to web-browsing! It just feels a bit small, even on a high-res screen.
There is a “Mass Replace” Feature. However…
At present, the “Mass Replace” feature only works with synonym groups that you have worked with. The information is stored on your hard drive as “previously used” synonyms, so when you hit “Mass Replace” you will see the cursor dance a jig all over the screen – not good if you have epilepsy methinks – it is looking for occurrences of your previous synonyms.
Well, when you first buy the thing…ain’t none! You get all excited (at least I did) but…nothin’. Just a dancing cursor at first – but that changes as you use the software and add your synonyms.
Note: the developer has recently said that this is going to be addressed in future editions, but as it stands you will need to train the software to have synonyms to replace.
Another feature that bugs about the spinner:
Since there are no synonyms pre-loaded, at least not for the “Mass Replace” feature (similar to MAR’s “Magic Button” or TBS’s “Replace Favorites” features) – the thesaurus only includes words, singular, for synonyms.
That means: no phrases, clauses, etc. This is definitely something I told the developer to re-think, and we’ll see hopefully that this does get addressed. With all that said, it sounds like a real downer, right?
So…
Should you get Article Marketing Robot or not? What’s the final say?
In my opinion, yes - otherwise I wouldn’t have bought the thing (there is a sixty day money back guarantee, BTW). I’d make sure you have a handful of articles – most of the them spun already – and then try the five day free trial.
If you want to see more about my new favorite article submitter, and some other features of Article Marketing Robot, you know the drill.
Want instead to try it out for FREE for 5 days? Click that, just know you won’t get the full 1300 1500+ article directories to use, but you can at least see how it works and get some strong links going.
The benefits:
- Small monthly subscription (this changed after I bought it, it was a one-time payment).
- Fast indexing.
- Index and RSS Ping/Mash/Submit your own backlinks’ RSS feeds.
- Get real human traffic through legible articles, just be prepared to spend some time with the built in spinner until you build up synonym groups.
Final buyer’s tip:
If you are just starting out, I would highly recommend you get this tool before you get anything else to build backlinks. You might not “need” anything else as far as article marketing goes, but I can’t say that for sure at this point since I just bought it. It (still) is one of the “purchases of the year” for 2010 in my estimate.
I am currently still sticking with ArticleRanks and Unique Article Wizard as far as article marketing services go – both are too effective and convenient not to stick with.
Also – AMR will not hit up blogs the way UAW and AR will, so there is more of a diversity of IP addresses with the monthly services (not to mention in-context links, but that’s OK since article marketing with resource boxes still works, folks!). The benefit of directories versus blogs is that article directories tend to be more “sticky” and the links will last longer than most blog-based links.
I have updated my review, read about the Article Marketing Robot discount and review update.

How would you compare this to UAW? I mean, both allow scheduled submissions (which is something that I love and need), but it seems as though only software program (Article Robot) is a one-off payment as opposed to UAW’s monthly subscription fee.
Also, it seems as though UAW excels in the fact that you get in-text links and ArticleRobot will probably on allow you to have signature/resource box links.
What’s the 411 James? ..or your $0.02 pesos.
Very astute question as usual!
The software ONLY hits article directories – and as far as success rate, like anything, it’s a high success rate, but not perfect.
For example, for whatever reason, I can’t get EzineArticles to approve, BUT there are other PR 6 directories included (and the ability to sort through directories by PR is UBER cool).
For that reason, I think UAW and ArticleRanks, etc. are always going to be around: they hit blogs and directories (in the case of UAW not AR, AR only hits the blogs of other members).
Which is why I think (personally) I’ll never be of the UAW and AR subscriptions.
And regarding the in-content links versus the resource body links – that is a great question deserving of a post.
(I’ve already got it to be drip fed so I’ll answer that briefly here.)
If you use your resource boxes, and write actual articles, then the normal inclination for an inquiring mind (speaking from my own behavior here, even before getting into IM) is that you want to follow through on the URL clicks.
For SEO purposes, you’re right: in context links are golden, and you can do that with EzineArticles BTW (below the fold), and other places (ArticlesBase and GoArticles, Buzzle).
I know with MAR you have the option of creating the in-content links (and Magic Submitter) – for the directories that allow that.
For this tool…it’s still so new in my hands that I’m not sure if you can! I’m in the middle of spinning 18 articles at the moment for a couple of clients, so to be honest with you, I’m not sure if you can do that.
But I will say it doesn’t concern me much – unless you’re tossing the resource box away (like a certain guru suggests), that’s a gold mine.
I’ve just done some testing on a couple of my CPA offers, and made $197 from an EzineArticle resource box click thru – it’s the only backlink to this property.
What gets me is that I have HUNDREDS of articles in various forms of syndication that are doing NOTHING for me because I neglected that prime real estate.
I was following bad advice on that: write generally for more syndication (never mind that the dupes wind up in the supplemental index)…”more backlinks” was the thinking…
Hogwash. I counted the backlinks from those articles, it’s pretty much a one to one ratio, so 2 links to my wasted EZA’s (because the links in the resource box were off topic to the article) – only ever got 2 links according to Google.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, don’t think the resource box is a throw away. It’s good for SEO (not “as” powerful as the content links, but Google’s not saying how each is weighed), and it’s great for higher CTR’s and real human traffic to your site.
Crap. That was supposed to be a short response.
James,
I really *love* your short posts! lol
I’m actually going to be experimenting with a lot of profitable free traffic methods that I stumbled across this past week.
During this experiment, I would really like the ability to build links on a large scale, but not all at once.
…I’m not looking to shell out $67/month to use UAW, so I’ll most likely wind up buying a one-off payment tool like AMR since it appears to have a better list of directories than MAR.
I think that’s a wise decision – go with AMR before doing a monthly I mean.
I assume though for drip-feeding you still have to open up the software and let it run?
That is the downfall of submitters that schedule, you still have to do something each day. That’s why UAW or AR are nice because once you set things up they are completely hands-off.
That is true – though you can set it to run automatically and sign up for Decaptcher to make it fully autopilot. As long as your PC is on, or if you set it to run when you turn on your computer, it’s cool like that.
But yeah – for someone like me, I’m just going to blast the articles out…at least 20 at a time. The lower PR directories will use the higher PR directories (ArticlesBase etc., and yes I know it’s nofollow, but darn if I don’t get CTR) as targets. In my shoes, I’m still using AR and UAW for subscriptions on that note.
I haven’t used UAW, but I can say that having to run the software on startup of Windows is probably the best option in order to ensure that your articles are dripfed.
The only downside to that though is that there is no option in the software that allows you to exit, but keep the program minimized in your icon tray. :(
…I think I may need to contact the developer and ask for that feature because everytime I try to exit the software, it literally shuts down insteading of minimizing in the background.
That’s definitely not good, if you’re talking about the submission process – I’m about to run some articles through for a couple of clients, so I’ll definitely report back on that note.
…you know what James…I stand corrected. There is a way to fix this problem and I’ll be sure to highlight it once I post my initial review of this software on my blog.
I haven’t used these software but I used The Best Spinner and so far, I am contented of how it works.

That’s definitely one of the best spinners to use if you spin. Another to consider would be Spinner Chief but haven’t used it since I have TBS.
