Read Me Blog Rules
This may sound a bit ludicrous, but here goes. There are rules on this blog. Rules designed to protect your interests as well as mine, but after being on several blogs and noticing a sad breach of common sense or a showcase of plain newbie ignorance, the rules have to be laid out.
I am, first and foremost, a businessman on this blog: freelance writer as well as internet marketer. As an internet marketer, I can’t, won’t and don’t share my sites with anyone. There was a case where I have been “discovered,” someone found one of my backlinks and chased it to me. I didn’t know it at the time, but that’s a no-no.
Since then, my sites have been hacked, my computer’s been compromised, and I’m sure some revenue has been lost. How much is impossible to tell, but I’m not taking many more chances. Here are the rules, then, to protect you, me and my wife’s sanity:
- Don’t ask me to show you one of my sites. I don’t do that.
- If you happen across what you think is one of my sites, send me an email to theaveragegenius[@]gmail.com and let’s keep that discussion OFF my blog. Compromising an internet marketer’s name, pseudonyms or websites is a great way to pose a threat to his income, and let’s face it, business is about competition. I don’t want more than I have.
- Don’t ask about keywords that you are currently targeting. Keep those to yourself to protect your own interests.
- Before you leave this blog, you have to buy something.
I’m sure there are going to be more rules to follow, but I’d rather not have to add to the list. Just keep a tight reign on common sense and a bit of civility, and there won’t be any reason to go all Medieval on you…
Thanks.
